The volunteers are back! On March 23rd, SLC club members returned to the Black Mountain Open Space park for another restoration event with the Friends of Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve (FLPCP) organization. During the event, the volunteers started off by watering the plants in the area. With the remainder of their time, they worked on removing weeds growing close to the plants. They even spotted a rattlesnake near Mike's truck!
After the volunteers finished at the main site, they returned to the new site to check on the 24 plants grown at the last event. While spreading buckwheat and poppy seeds around the area, it was remarkable to see the plants already growing and thriving in their new home, and the volunteers are looking forward to seeing them grow even more at the next event!
