Just recently, members of Student Leadership Club (SLC) went to Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank.

A food bank employee arranged the work for us. On one occasion, we sorted and packaged fruits like pears and apples, sorted out the bad produce, and bagged the good produce. On another, we were packaging non-perishables such as cereal, canned beans, and peanut butter into boxes. These packages of food would be distributed the next day by the food bank.

Some people were on the assembly line while others were restocking it. We were able to get into a rhythm of work after a bit, listening to music and talking to people we worked next to, making the process more enjoyable.

All in all, this experience was fulfilling as we were able to contribute to the community and spend some time with friends as well!
